Just bought 350.
Discussion
Hi. I have just bought a Tasmin 350 and whilst I am waiting for my Wedge Maintinance book to come through I hoped someone would let me know where the seat belts would have come from? I was also thinking about joining the TVR owners club, and wanted to know weather it would be worth it at this early stage of ownership? Finding subjects interesting already learnt alot from this forum
Hi David.
Congratulations on buying TVR! I guess it's your first?
The seat belt origin is not specified in Steves book, it just says' of the type fitted to many other cars'. I think they are pretty standard inerti reals, and it wouldn't matter where replacements came from, provided they are properly certified (which anything coming off a car in the last 15 years or so will be).
If you do need replacements, my suggestion would be to go down to a local scrap yard, and just get a neat functionall one out of something like a Ford or European car. So long as it runs freely and locks properly, that's all you'll need.
It is well worth joining the TVR Car Club (note that it's not actually an 'owners club', and you don't have to own a TVR to join. I joined before buying). The monthly magazine is of a very high standard. To be honest, though, in my experience, not much other reason to join.
Oh, and wipe that grin off your face
