Rover V8 rebuild
Discussion
Hi,
I'm in the process of rebuilding a 3.9 Rover V8 but need to give some parts a good clean, are there any engine re builders or machine shops PH'ers could recommend near Worcester or Leamington Spa that would be willing to put a basket of parts in their industrial cleaner? I'm prepared to pay for the use of the facilities...parts in need of a clean are a cylinder block and possibly pistons.
cheers

Hi,
When i was building my last engine (blown rover v8) i took my block to Heathecote engineering ( the names something like that) they are in leamington spa , round the corner from crescent garage at the very top of the town. They didnt charge much, They also bored out my block for me !
Hope that helps

Many thanks, that post has been overtaken by events - I used the steam cleaner at work! Unfortunately it didn't quite have the "nuclear option" effect of resulting in a factory-fresh looking block. It gor a lot of crap off but I think it really needs to go in one of those sauna-type things...
Anyway this has taken an unfortunate turn because after running the honing tool up and down the bores this evening it became apparent that the block needs a rebore so I'll give Heathcoate a ring tomorrow.
thanks again...
