Louise Goodnman's pre-race lack of geographic knowledge
Discussion
Typical ITV rubbish of always trying to get their self-important noses into the frame by mentioning their other sports coverage, if it's not football on the F1 it's rugby on the BTCC.
Just before race 3 Louise Goodman asked Alain Menu if he saw the rugby last night and what he thought of it, obviously hoping to get one over the losers, kick the French while they're down. Although someone should have told her he's not French he's Swiss, so what does he care, as he said to her as well.
Bloody fools the lot of them.

Superb.Today was the first time I've watched BTCC on TV this year and I thought, when I saw the two muppets introducing the coverage, that they probably know bugger all about BTCC.

i just dont get how Kravitz still has a job, he is just so thick and says stupid things all the time!
I think they got Kock Kravitz him from the same Job Centre as Cock Allen...And much as I don't particularly fancy VBH, I do think she did a better job at presenting the BTCC than Louise does. I suspect she knows a fair bit about motor racing in general taking into account her background and 'usual' job, but she should do a bit more research rather than just turn up and wing it, which is how it appears.
Unfortunately ITV still don't have a particularly big budget for this sort of thing, but I suppose we should be grateful at least some of it's live and on terrestrial.

Leave Louise alone, at least she is a competitor - more than can be said for the female who stumbles her way through the superbike interviews
What is Louise a competitor at other than getting the most facts per second wrong and trying to chat up the most 20 something young males and ending up looking like a drunk old granny with silver bangle/gypsy blood in her!!I'm a car, not a bike fan but to be honest the British Superbike "team" are a 100 times better than the F1/BTCC teaam, Ben Edwards (not Tim Edwards!!) and Tim Harvey are very good commentators but they aren't as good as the BSB guys and LG and TK just make me want to shoot them!! As for James Allen that's another subject as we all know.....

All this business of asking drivers about other sports devalues motor racing. The rugby should have no more relevance to Jenson Button as he's lining up on the grid than Ming Campbell resigning or whether Letitia Dean is still in Strictly Come Dancing.
There's always a faint tinge of embaressment or annoyance in the eye of the driver as he fails to come up with an interesting answer about a sport he doesn't care about.

Hopefully this is my final rant about ITV's 'coverage' of the final round of the British Touring Car Championship.... as they say 'I was there man'...
My main gripe is with the final race of the day,
1. The guest vauxhall driver Alain Menu had a major moment out the back of the circuit, hence why he was lower down the field, ITV made no mention of it what so ever.
2. The Matt Jackson/ Colin Turkington battle coming out of the final chicane received no coverage, even though championship contender Giovinadi was nose to nose with the talented irishman, and mr plato did some more shortcutting which allowed him to be on young Mr Chilton's bumper.
3.Mike Jordan's accident had happened a lap before the red flag, and there were waved yellow's in the chicane area and yet again no mention of anything until lo and behold the race is over, and as a small note it would have been nice to inform the puplic that Mike was ok!
So to sum up I don't think it was just Louise and Ted that screwed I think ITV as whole messed it up well for me anyway!

slightly off topic but
did anyone see the a1gp race? as Ben Edwards was commentating on the bumper cars, Bruce Jones of Autosport fame was doing the commentating. I wasn't intently listening but the bits i did hear seemed quite good. Maybe he could be the replacement for James Allen.
perhaps.

Kravitz made a clanger at the end of the race, after speaking to Plato about losing the championship and his burns, he ended the interview with something like 'thanks, you deserved it'!
Nothing in comparison to the tongue tied attempt at interviewing LH after he'd stuck it in the gravel in China. Way to mess up one of the most important interviews you will ever get the opportunity of doing.Kravitz also made a total arse of himself with the NASCAR / Days of Thunder reference that he'd never heard. I watched some of the coverage on Setanta for the first time, and it was miles better. None of the fawning lowest common denominator garbage ITV serve up, like wheeling in some bloke from a boy band to ask his opinion. Because the average crowd at a BTCC event is obviously the key boy band market...
