Okies,

my 1st foray into these waters.

I've got about £400.00 to spend on my 1st Digital SLR - looking at the Cannon 400d - what else should i be looking into or at.

Regards
Hughesie

Never used the 400D, but when I was in the market for a DSLR I looked at many different deals on Ebay (couldnt afford to go brand spanking) including loads of 300D's with ludicrous amounts of kit, but finally settled on a 10D with battery grip and no lens.....havent looked back since yes

Sorry if this appears bitchy, but your best path would be to do a search: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/search.asp?h=0&...

This topic has come up quite a few times, and there's lots of good advice to be had in the archives winksmile

I have a spare 400D with lens (17-85 I think) which you're welcome to borrow for a bit to see how you get on with it.

i have Canon 300D and absolutely love it, to see some shots i've taken with it checkout my photobucket

if you have a telescope you can get a T-adapter and do shots like the ones i've taken here:-

if the 300D is anything to go by then the 400D should be amazing.

expect to pay around £300 for the 300D

Hi Paul,
Interesting set of Photos especially the lizards, were these all taken in Harstholme Park?
Also like the light trails on the Bypass (taken from the Burton Road bridge!), I'm in Nettleham, still trying to get to grips with my D200 and loving it.

Ray, yes the Lizard and snakes were both in Hartsholme, if you know where to look you can see loads in one outing. (the meadow area is best)
now that winter is heading in you will see less and less.
earlier in the year around late spring time i saw more than 20 snakes in one area in an hour.
the common lizards are getting rare in the park and i'm not sure why.
