Just wondering if anyone can help. I am a CANON man and I was wondering what settings people use to shoot cars at night, with sum street lighting.

If you could show a picture and write the ISO, F-Stop & Exposure.

Thanks in advance.

might be best to just stick the camera in av and set apperture deppending on who much DOF (focus) you want and let the camera do it's thing. make sure you take a tripod :-)

check histogram and adjust if needed.

i'd take a peice of white paper and get a custon White balance before you start too.

enjoy!

Or shoot in RAW and tweak afterwards

Where's the way out sign that appears in the reflection?

IMHO the photo is better with the sign left in. Its the little details that I like about your photos.

Its literally 30seces of careful PS work to lose the sign - I have versions of each! wink But editor will make final call which one to use!

"OK"

Very capable, but given my reference points the words "slow, understeer and horrible flappy gearbox thingy" would be my summary.

It's clearly in 911 shouting range, but then I'm no real fan of the 911. Something to do with me owning 4 cars and still having an ecurie membership I am sure!

If you want a single £80k car then I can really see the attraction. If it was No. 5 of your fleet with a M400, X5 4.8i, Z4M and Ur Quattro being the other 4 it's hard to make the case for it. But then not everyone is in that position.

TBH I think I'd scrape the additional 15k and take a gayardo. Much preferred the yellow beast I took out (despite the bushes being shot to death biggrin).

F430 for 10 days next, then we'll see if £30k difference really is different....

I'm still not sure about that front styling either, but LOVE the rear 1/3rd. Ultimatly, it's an exceptional Audi, but in the weekend I had it, I still thought the RS4 back-to-back is the better car from the four rings.....

Slow - compared to a Noble perhaps, but then its much more habitable - certainly not slow 'per se'. Understeer - sadly yes, in fact the cars biggest failing IMO. Flappy paddle - I dislike them as a matter of principal.... however for a box of its type I thought it was very, very impressive. Your ecurie membership should make you a GT3 fan, at least wink Fantastic thing.

"If you want a single £80k car then I can really see the attraction." Nail>head - exactly what this car is for, you're not going to choose it over an M400 for a Sunday morning blast but thats not its purpose - IMO it gells the useability of a Carrera S with more desirability because of its looks, noise and more approachable handling.

I'd have it over an '04 Gallardo all day long - nicer steering, nicer ride, better interior, an '06 onwards though? Probably not. The 430 though.... now there's a great car, my favourite after the GT3.

Here is an effort of mine at night photography.

15mm Focal length
Aperture F/2.8
Shutter 2.8sec
ISO 100

This was taken on my old Fuji 6900, but I've recently upgraded to a full DSLR with the Canon 30d. I believe that I can now do better, so just need to get out there and shoot more often.

Nice!

Although to my (considerably less talented) eye it would have looked better closer to the puddle for a full reflection.

Cheers. I did think about that, but if I'd moved the car closer I would have lost the composition with the lamps which I felt was more important.
