Am thinking about getting my 7 year old boy into racing one. Has anybody any advice? how to get started etc? is it a good idea?

Bunch of chavs trying frantically to start one, on a public footpath down by the river when I was out on my push-iron earlier this eve: how I chortled about 3 minutes later when the Cleveland Police off-road m/cycle section rode past me heading in their direction biggrin

Good idea but make sure you get a good one. A cheap brand new model is upwards of £600. Don't buy a Chinese replica off eBay that will be crap for racing.

There`s a few minimoto clubs around running at Go kart venues....google a few minimoto racing clubs and try the lad on the arrive & drive days...the club`s run age groups from as young as 6 or 7..a great sport with proven crossovers to youth racing...

Here is one near you with some dates...smile

Then there is the cost of adding nitro to it.I actually saw a bloke who had done this to one up the ace cafe one night.
