Hi Guys

whats your opinions of the 150bhp engine Caterham are using? I hear its just the Ford Sigma engine used in the Fiesta which has new cams and throttle bodies on it. What sort of life would you expect to get out of one of these if it just gets hard (ish) road use?

Also why do you guys think they went the Sigma route and not with Zetec?

Well the Supersport K-series was just a Rover 200 engine with different cams and throttle body and that worked pretty well... I would expect the engine to last just as long as in a Fiesta, maybe even longer due to the reduced weight.

I think Ford have stopped making the original Zetec, the Sigma is a much more modern design. Also the Zetec was known as being a bit heavy, wheras the Sigma is supposedly lighter than the equivalent K-series.
