Alfa Romeo Sprint Veloce
Discussion
A neighbour has one sat in the car park under the balcony of my living room. It's been there 18 months, has no tax or MOT, no windscreen after a bunch of kids had their way with it, puddles in the footwells and it hasn't been started for 6 months. It's a G plate, white with green stripes, rusty door sills and bonnet, Zender bodykit, telephone dial alloys, flat and cracked tyres, soggy shocks and 72k on the clock.
What do you reckon? I know it sounds mad, but he wants £25 for it and I've got a bit of an urge for it..!

I have had 2 sprints, a 1.5 coverleaf (sud based)and a 1.7(33 based), They were both great cars and I still fancy another, it would have to be a sud based 1.5 though.
They are mechanically strong but the bodywork can be very bad especially on an early one, I think it would be a lot cheaper to buy a good one than to try and fix up a basket case.

Do it, but remember it will cost you 100 times that to get it back on the road...

Maybe talk to JustSuds first and get a feel for what you are letting yourself in for!
I've restored a Sud that's better than the Sprint he's describing. It cost me 200 times the £25 asked for this Sprint!

Finally, a pic - albeit a rather grainy and dark one!

Hearing some of the advice on here I'm thinking it might be worth splashing £1k on a 164 Cloverleaf instead of this...?
It's not got a Zender kit on that one. It's standard green cloverleaf but the black trim has all been painted white.

With a Sud you'll be spending your money welding and painting, welding and painting. With a 164 you'll be forever chasing electrical gremlins.
