Hi all,

Have just got back from buying a Mk4 R32, think it looks and sounds the dogs gonads and it goes like stink too but the main issue I discovered on the way home was how BLOOMING NOISY it is inside, the centre console of the dash squeaks and creaks and it's driving me mental, accidentally pulled a bit of it apart whilst driving trying to work out where the noise is coming from. Anyone else have/had this problem and how did you sort it - it's ruining what is an excellent car!!

Cheers.

Many VAG centre arm rests rattle in the lid reigon. It's a simple fix - remove rear ashtry, undo a couple of hex bolts, remove entire arm rest vertically out!

A Milltek non-resonated exhaust system should drown that out nicely

Both mine and the wife's mk4 Golf's both have rattles and squeaks coming from the dash. They don't bother the wife, but they drive me nuts!

They only happen at low speeds though which is weird!

You may find renewing the lower centre console and ensuring the foam is all in place solves some squeaks.

I did with mine as it was marked by the previous owners phone kit, cost me £20 from the dealer.
