morning.anyone any ideas please? cerb went in last week for a 12000k service no wheel wobble, while in for service brake pipes replaced as well.
picked it up 2 days later and was told there was a bit of play in the nearside front bearing, now booked in for november.
the journey home was very low speed due to traffic, everthing seemed fine brakes the best since i have had the car.
next day took the car out for a spin and noticed at about 50mph a little bit of wheel wobble, carried on and at about 70mph had to brake quiet hard then there was massive steering wheel wobble thought i was going into the crash barriers.
carried on to where the car was serviced they had a look and deceided the bearing was worse than first thought.
left the car there, bearing replaced wheels balanced brakes tested on rollers at a mot station.
picked car up and on the way home noticed at about60mph and more when braking quiet strong steering wheel wobble,i just let go of the wheel and watched it wobble.
taking the car back in the morning and the guy who did the service is comming out for another test drive with me.
just wondered if anyone has had this problem?or any ideas,i know it seems obvious warped discs but even with my limited knowledge i cant see the discs warping parked up fof two days in a workshop.
thans pete.

Have a look at the INSIDE of the wheels for trueness. I damaged a wheel (and tyre) very badly on the inside, and yet couldn't see any damage from the outside at all. Drove for a while before I twigged what it might be...

If there wobble is under braking then the common cause is either pad deposits on the discs or warped discs. I had judder under braking, changed the discs and the problem went. As Ian says, it could be wheel related. Thinking it could also be play in the suspension joints.

as i said the car has just had a 12000k service by well known tvr people ,so i would expect any other faults to have been found.

i'm not a happy bunny now, took my car to someone i know who is very competant but not tvr just to see if he could spot anything obvious.
he checked both brake discs and the ns disc was'nt running true,in his opinion either a warped disc normally in pairs or crap between disc and hub.
he then removed the disc and pointed out the crap on the inside of the disc which we took photos of,then put it back as it was.
while he was looking round the car he also spotted the underside of ns steering gaitor is split,as i said earlier the car has just come back from a 12000k service and back again for a new ns wheel bearing and wheel wobble investigation that i am to impressed.
i will have to wait till tommorow when the car goes back where the above work was carried out.
