Pretty sure there is service schedule on the Griff or Chim Pages, even the Peter Beech site IIRC.

It can take an hour to change the plugs:

Clean the plug holes with plugs in situ to avoid crap getting into the bores.
Remove plug leads - sometimes the extenders get stuck on the plugs and can be very awkward to remove without risking breaking the plug.
Remove plugs - again, if undisturbed for a year, plugs can be very obstinate.
Carefully clean plug holes again.
Gap new plugs and tighten 'nipples'.
Fit new plugs, ensuring not cross-threaded and torquing correctly.

Its the difference between doing it to 'Ford Escort standard' and doing it to a standard worthy of the car.
Same for the rest of the schedule, which includes a lot of insepction items.
