On my 4.5BV Ray Webb changed the TVR234 for a Kent 218Hybrid, which lost it a little peak HP but increased torque significantly and gave smoother HP and Torque curveson his dyno.
End result is very good from a driveability perspective.
The cam in my car was a 234 & was replaced with a 218 cam & although it's very driveable, I'll be replacing it with a stealth when this one is worn out. There's a VERY good article on End result is very good from a driveability perspective.

Was that in the 430? You got a 4.5 put in didn't you?Not paid too much attention, but I had the impression the 435 was fitted to most of the early 430Bvs?? Not really sure whether OP is asking what he had / wants to just renew / upgrade???
Bottom line - I don't think you can be sure what cam unless you get the old one out?

Ray Webb removed the original 234 from my NCK 450BV when it was rebuilt. The 218 he replaced it with was a hybrid profile which gives it a little more high rpm hp then the stock Kent item.
On his dyno my motor pushes out just over 280bhp and 300ftlbs. With the 234 you get just over 290bhp and slightly more torque but much peakier curves (and a lot less mid range). TVR claimed 320 bhp of course !
But this was 5 years ago, and a guess things move on...................
