What is a technical test in the IT recruitment process?
Discussion
I'm looking around at jobs for trainee positions in IT, and with the smaller companies (some of which have large clients anyway), they say that I will have to undertake a technical test.
I've never actually heard of a technical test, although I am aware of and have done abstract reasoning, numerical and verbal reasoning tests. Is a technical test a computing test which will ask me how I would implement certain functionality?
"a technical test, usually with two members of the Development team."
Thanks

basically - its down to the job.
If its an IT infrastructure role - you'll need to show aptitude to setting up routing tables, nodes etc.
If its a coding job, as mentioned above, you'll need to write a small program.
Don't worry too much, its less a test of what you know, and more on how you approach problems.
