I love the look of the Maser Ghibli that I've seen for sale. Are there any particular reasons why you might NOT want it?

Because..

Only a handful of people would buy one

its got rust

it was last serviced when.....?

it would ideally need a c£5k service at an independent like McGrath's

its not the best colour

there are better (more expensive) ones for sale

45 mins left.......

Second car, yes if you are prepared for some servicing/fixing bills at a specialist.

.....however there will be others out there, give you a chance to go and see/drive some

I won't feel more relaxed until it's sat in my garage, having made it's way "home" in one piece. Will check that my RAC membership is up to date, first!

I can't believe I've taken the plunge into unreliable car ownership, but it feels good!

I'm sorry that I've wasted peoples' time suggesting good 2nd cars, on my other thread, but I'm not that sorry, cos I now own a Maserati!

What a purchase and a jumbo sized thumbup for entering into the world of the cantankerous Italian motor.

Lets face it for that amount of loot can you really go wrong? I just sold one of our old company Ford Focus for that amount of loot and yours has got the Zulu shield gold clock

My only words of advice are these, do not allow yourself to go near the classified section in Auto Itlia or indeed Ebay again for at least 12 months otherwise I predict you will become the owner of a Quatroporte IV before you know it!

Lets hope the next words I say to you are not 'I told you so' especially after ringing and asking why you shouldn't buy it and then buying it an hour later.... knew I should have stayed at work longer to talk you out of it...

Lets hope it aint going to be the money pit I think it may be, oh and and check the cambelts (change them now) 7k miles since the last time they were done on a car that has only done 5k a year could be problematic.

Good luck

Thank you to all!

My next task is to find someone who knows how to work on a Maserati Ghibli, in the East Midlands...

Independent Specialist, anyone?

suggest you look at something like this straight away:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Maserati-BiTurbo-servicing_W...

or find someone that can do something for a similar price

Why's that then? Email me if you can't post here, please! If you don't recommend them, then is there anywhere in the East Midlands or Yorkshire that you DO recommend?
