Just wondering as i sit at home here with it pouring down outside, Cats an Dogs ;-( if anyone has ever had a track day cancled because of bad weather
i know fog is not good ! ( bedford ) and i was there once when we had a late start ...... but not too bad at about 11.00
I am only asking as i am thinking of doing Cadwell later this year ... November & December but what if is snows !
or just torrential rain ?
thanks in advance

I've only had one cancelled due to bad weather in about 10 years.
I've been to airfields where there's been snow on the ground for 2-3 hours - although we've waited an hour to see if it was melting, decided it wasn't, and those who wanted to could go and play. And play I did! Lots of low speed drifting, no tyre or brake wear, low fuel consumption - BRILLIANT!

Had more rain for events in summer uk & europe than ive ever had in the winter. Personally I just avoid October as I find its normally always wet, although to be fair we've had some cracking sunny days early Oct.
Last couple of winters ive done Nov, Dec, Jan & Feb days & all were dry & most had that lovely winter sunshine we are aocasionally blessed with, also above had ice at Cadwell in the morning, twas so bad you fell over on ice in the pits! So a delayed start but glorious & sunny in the afternoon tho.

Did a Track Day today at Silverstone; the morning was damp and greasy, but there were a few dry laps
after lunch, but then it rained and the rain got heavier and heavier and there was lots of standing water - they imposed an 80 mph speed limit and eventually had to abandon procedings about 45 minutes before the scheduled end of play as visibility diminished.

Did you enjoy the time that you did have on track??? I was instructing on the day! after lunch, but then it rained and the rain got heavier and heavier and there was lots of standing water - they imposed an 80 mph speed limit and eventually had to abandon procedings about 45 minutes before the scheduled end of play as visibility diminished.

of course I enjoyed myself! And did you notice how they matched the colour of the instructors' hair to the colour of their cars
.Actually I found the (very wet) day interesting and potentially useful rather than enjoyable.

Jonny at BaT was telling me that they keep going all year...and that snowy days at airfields were slow - but excellent fun!I've been to airfields where there's been snow on the ground for 2-3 hours - although we've waited an hour to see if it was melting, decided it wasn't, and those who wanted to could go and play.
