Free video editing software

[Scooby_snax]

My Windows Movie Maker seems a bit unstable so am looking for an easy to use alternative.
Any suggestions of free video editing software?

Have you got the latest version? It's a lot better than the one that came with XP. Free on the MS site.

2.1.4026 Is the latest - if you have that and it's still crashing then I can't be of any help.
(except get a SHED load of ram)

Yep thats the one I am using
It doesnt crash whilst using it but when I exit it apparently closes ok but then I cannot reopen...I have then noticed the CPU is running at 100% with the programme open in Task Manager - clicking 'end process' solves it and happily reopens
Also WMM doesnt seem to be too accurate when editing
