EVO 6 gear box problems????

Im lookin for some info/help here mates. when changing from 3rd to 4th its real smooth but when i change from 3rd to 4th at high revs it crunches real bad?!?!?!

any info would be greatly appreciated!

I think its quite a common problem with Evos.

You could possibly try an oil change, but more than likely, its box out for repairs.

Cheers mate, i was hoping it was just a oil change too, will get that seen too when i get home from offshore.

Perhaps at higher rpm the clutch is not disengaging as well as it should be, or you are not depressing the pedal far enough.

Either way it sounds like you need a new 4th gear synchro cone. Make sure you use the correct oil (the oil is matched to the transmission, despite what many people think) and make sure the clutch is bled properly.

Cheers for the post, is it expensive for a synchro cone?? you of my mates suggested i wasnt putting clutch far enough in, but i made sure i do now, still crunchs.
