yes it will be horrific without ac (IN A GTR)!! It is a must imo. I switched mine off for 5 mins in a traffic jam on a hot day it became unbearable after 3 mins!! I'm unsure about installing AC into the vehicle, what have you all done?

I don't have AC in my GTR. I have the helicoptervents that blows alot of WARM air into the car... Warm? yes the cold air passes through the engine cooler in the front and then straight into the helicoptervents. Great! it's an interwarmer 
I coulden't believe that it actually picked up such warm air so I taped a long string of yarn on the cooler and it sure did find it's way into the helicoptervent (!)
My car is kind of "race oriented" but YES I regret that I didn't install the AC from day one... Go for it!

I took the AC out my GTR when I decided to race the car.
The car was fantastic to race but uncomfortable in relation to the cabin temperature - especially with a full face helmet and racing suite. I also struggled to demist the car on a couple of occasions without the AC
I am hoping to race again next year and am re-installing the AC despite how awkward this will be as I cut all the pipes out and removed the radiator.

No A/C in my car, black GTR. No regrets. If you look on the USA website you can see how the windows are mounted to allow them to be removed. No A/C means that the side windows will have to be made removable.
I also insulated the radiator pipes and the luggage bins, installed the heater control in the engine compartment and insulated the heater hoses. The key to pulling this off is to limit the amount of heat that you allow into the passenger cabin and get enough airflow through the cabin.
You will absolutely not regret making the side windows removable, and once this is done there isn't a need for A/C.

^^^^ not so over here in Hong Kong.
I dont have my windows in and I find that hot air from the radiator makes its way into the cabin at slower speeds. Having said that I found that its only at the bottom corner that this happens, when I put my hand there it deflects the hot air, so a little perspex deflector would help (but i'd still not go without AC - read posts about post-fitting AC)

Any piccys on the re-siting of the heater control? Do you mean the heater unit itself?
Is it the standard Ult supplied one?
