Hi all,
since i've decided i need a monaro or my life won't be complete until i own a monaro and as i drive for a living, i've been keeping my eyes open for monaro's, as you do.
Just wondered if any of these people were on here,
Black VXR parked in a drive in wombwell
Silver VXR with a private plate, i think it read jeff, saw it on kirkstall road in leeds on Saturday
Yesterday lunchtime, silver facelifted cv8 driving towards wakefield from morley crossing j41
and im sure i saw something else, all within the last week...
and i went to the vauxhall dealer in harrogate to have a nosey about one with no intentions of buying (again on saturday), but someone bought it earlier! anyone?
any of these on here?
anyone else local to leeds/wakey?

sweet, top spotting for thz! I'm properley on the look out now (the last few days has made me realise how many dodge rams there are in the area!). the other car on my list, the mg zt 260, i never see them (although im starting to think they arent really that special and if i want to spend less money on a big v8 i'd be better going for a bmw 540 or trying to insure a hsv saloon.

I also went to Harrogate to see the Silver Monaro VXR last weekend (13th) with no intention of buying. Unfortunately, I took it for a test drive, fell in love and decided to hell with the mortgage. Got it delivered on Friday, awesome!!
I also live in the Cleckhuddersfax area, I dont drive for a living though my father did!
PA07BAT - you may see me in Wyke as my bro-in-law also lives there.
After owning the car for just three days I haven't stopped grinning despite the interior door lock falling off within 10secs of delivery and the fuse for the indicators/reversing lights repeatedly blowing after just 24hrs.
I have now disconnected the wire at the gearbox switch and then attempted to get it fixed under the warranty. After a little persuasion Harrogate have agreed to order a new switch without having to see the car and will fit at the earliest opportunity.
For future reference and more serious issues I believe that I will need a Vauxhall authorised Monaro garage can anyone let me know where the nearest recommended one is? I tried ringing round most of the North of England without success.
Hope to see you all around West Yorkshire in the near future. Does anyone attend any of the local cruises if so when and where?

Will keep an eye out for you
Welcome to the club by the way, it's a great place to be
There deffinately seems to be a southern bias on this site, and that includes dealers/garages that are qualified to carry out work on our beloved machines.
There was a thread posted last week regarding 'official' dealers that can work on Monaros.... and it's not good for us. I will probably have to venture about an hour and three quarters south for a service and you, from Harrogate, about an hour north! were in the middle of no-mans land for 'Ro ownership it would seem
If there are any local meets then let me know, I'd be happy to attend.

apols....you're not residing in Harrogate!.....We've both got to drive an hour and three quarters south to get a decent service! ooh err missus

theres a guy in York been offering twin turbos etc for the Monaro - think he normally deals with Chevy stuff, might be worth tracking him down and seeing if he can do your service work for you. Anyway less than 2hrs to reach a decent garage - pah a mere spin round the block. Consider poor V6 JDT in Orkney - he's got ferries and a 5hr drive to the nearest authorised dealer in Edinburgh and so far they've cocked it up every time he's had to go there - including not having the parts in on the day and asking him to pop back in a couple of days, despite knowing in advance he was coming and how far he was travelling.

Unforgivable, unfortunately the motor trade at its worst. All down to staff who dont give a s**t. trust that V6JDT was suitably reimbursed for his expenses on the second trip
Two more local spots!
Yesterday, m62, hullbound, passing the asda depo at normanton, black cv8, going the other way.
Today, the roadworks by hunslet road, leeds. Silver vxr, 56 plate i think, miglia stickers on it, i was in the fiat doblo van (slowest, least powerful vehicle in the world) gawping

The first time after complaining I got a free tank of fuel. That was going through Vauxhall complaints dept. and I had to remind the garage when I got there as the tank was empty
Next time they cocked up I swore I wouldn't go back again and I haven't. Just use my Inverness dealer now as he's only 110 miles away and a ferry journey of 1.5 hours and £100 fare
