What is the biggest thing i could tow behind my landrover size wise?

A friend wants to pick up a skateboard ramp that is 20ft by 8ft. I think i could get that on my trailer with a 1 foot over hang either side and a 6 foot over hang at the back.

A six foot rear overhang (between one and two metres)would have to be rendered clearly visible (not defined in legislation), and you would have to ensure that your brake and indicator lights, registration mark and reflectors were visible.

Laterally you are allowed 305 mm (about one foot) either side of the trailer.

On the premis that lateral overhang is just going to exceed 305mm
then it can still be moved if 48 hours notice with full details are given to the police.
(Schedule 12 MV (Con and use) Regs 1984

(Over 14ft load width things get heavy and you will need VL1 from Dof T and have to notify Highways and other agencies.)
