Handbrake on/off lights on dash

Finally got 'round to buying a new handbrake sensor switch thing, and found out how to extract the centre console.

Has anyone experiences the same fault, whereby the lights on the dash work in reverse (i.e. lights on when handbrake off, and vice versa) ?

Just wondered if I'm going to be delving in the right area by fitting the new switch.

You're lucky - mine works only when it wants to!

thanks Roy; funnily enough I can sometimes get the lights to go off when the handbrake is off, but it's a bit hit and miss.
