Flame And Thunder Show
Discussion
Hope you have a good time, its a very good event, and an eye opener for first timers.
HOWEVER - be prepared for a very long que when it comes to home time.
Flame and thunder pulls in half the population of Wellingboro, and as soon as the last rocket goes phut, they all head for the exit.
Best advice I can give is to take a throwaway barbie and have some grub whilst all the peasants fight their way out.
Enjoy your self.

Yea I was thinking it would be a pain leaving.
Will get some good pictures, well will try!
Take a torch as well, and remember where you park, as the main parking area is unlit. Will get some good pictures, well will try!
Never seen a top fuel car, eh? I can see a deeply religious experience in your not too distant future...

Being a regular at the Pod for far to many years, the Flame and Thunder show is my least favorite event there. Last years was worse than ever. It just seemed to be the same few display vehicles over and over again.
Don't hold your breath for the top fuel either. It will only be a burnout and launch if your lucky, as even with a fully prepped track theres no traction.
Really not my type of event at all. Shall be giving it a miss this year.

Oh yeah... I'll be there... can't wait!!!
Always a great end of season bash... and it's looking bigger and better than ever before...!!!
Who cares about the huge queue to get out... just hit the eateries or the bar and wait for the queue to die down... oh and don't forget to tune your radio to 96.2 Nitro FM... last year they were on air til 11.30pm!!!!
Will be good to see Barry back in a rail... and hey, if the weather is as good as it has been the last couple of days... who knows what might be possible!!!!
See ya there!!!!

sweet memories jon,
it took a year of crap too get to that?
From memory, wasn't that run also with a mix of heads? One Brad, and one AJ, after having to borrow a spare from Peter Knight? Either way, an impressive pass for that time of year, and given the track conditions. But the few notable exceptions like that aside, it's probably true that you shouldn't expect too much from the fuel cars at Flame & Thunder.it took a year of crap too get to that?
In the next few days we'll be launching our annual F&T Contest on Eurodragster.com; this year's prize is a family ticket which admits two adults and up to six kids. We will also have details about the seventy or so UK National Championship, VW, Wild Bunch, Jap etc racers who are making demo passes at the Flame and Thunder Show. And, if time permits, a supporting cast of Fuel cars, Jet FCs and Rocket Bike

I shall be there for my last nitro fix of the year, i think it is a good event and does Santa Pod the world of good.
I know a few people from my old job in Milton Keynes who took there family there just for the fireworks display (arrived after 4 when i think its cheaper?) and witnessed two fuel cars flying down a dark track.
Suffice to say, they came back at Easter for more...now they attend 3 times a year.
Santa Pod have hit gold with this one...

You know what to do Dan, plug them in when we post the contest and see if you can make it two for two
If he does, we will have him burnt as a witch!

Nobody had noticed i had been set on fire, people were far to busy listening to Chico perform live...

Are you still running at the F&T?
Well, not literally running. I don't think people would want to see that and I have been in enough ambulances for one lifetime. But yes I am driving a race car at the F&T together with about seventy five other people (not all in the same car of course). We have two demo sessions; one in the morning of an hour and fifty five minutes and one in mid-afternoon of an hour and three quarters. I have not been apprised yet but I am guessing that the Fuel cars, Jet FCs and Rocket Bike have their own slots outside of these sessions.

Its all down to taste, I went last year and it was pure entertainment. Don't hold your breath for the top fuel either. It will only be a burnout and launch if your lucky, as even with a fully prepped track theres no traction.

I agree with Luke about that, gets a lot of people through the gates, makes a lot of new fans and pays a large sum towards upgrades at the Pod
As a racer I love the event too, nicer relaxed feel to it, end of season meeting with no pressure just put the car through its paces before the winter changes start
