wifey said what do you want for your birthday? i said a sports ex. for the cerb.but before tearing ahead i have a couple of questions you might be able to help me with. firstly, car companys spend many thousands of pounds on designing ex. systems.so would there be any performance gain in de-cating and fitting a sp.ex. or more importantly could it actually have the opposite effect? the other question is how do you get it through an mot every year without having to change the system every year? also if i did change the exhaust would it have to be re-mapped? the car is a 98 4.2.

More noise, less power . . . Or: no improvement on power.

That's what they say.

So, what do you want: noise or power?

If you go for a decent sports exhaust you wont lose power over teh std backbox, but teh cheap versions (ie under 300 pounds) have poor bendwork and they do rob hp frown

How you get through your MOT is down to you and your testing station.

Hi Verm,

Just tried to email you - you're not accepting them.

Just had my sports exhaust replaced and then de-cat'd - I'm in Croydon so if you want to come round and/or I visit Kent for a run, listen and lunch - let me know.
