E36 325 instead of a 328; is it worth it?

Currently looking at a '93 325 with 130k on the clock. Engine feels great, still pulls strongly, though when I go to check performance figures against the E36 328, there's a 1.5 difference in 0-60 times?? How can 20lb ft of torque make such a huge difference?

the 328i was restricted due to taxation laws,with the right mods,that being a larger intake manifold and bigger throttle body and remap the car can see over 230bhp easy.
Its worth getting the 328i over the 325i.
You wont find a very clean 325i now with low millage.
There are lots of well looked after 328i`s out there with decent millage for silly cheap prices now.

328 gets my vote.

Fit an induction kit and the big bore throttle body/ inlet manifold kit by a fellow who goes by the name of Alpina527 at e36coupe.com then get it remapped and you'll see over 220bhp.

The 325i - if you can find a nice clean one - is a better bet than a 328i which used the hateful alloy block engine that suffers so many issues - Nikasil, sinking liners on later engines and head bolt threads pulling out of the block.
