Balljoints

My 01 XJ8 has failed the mot on wear front balljoints, anybody done theirs? much of a job?

They are fine to do, good old mechanics no special tools required

If it's an XJ8 you will need a tool to take the load of the front springs before removing the lower arm. Do Not attempt this job without it, otherwise you might lose some body parts you may later need !!
If its an XK8, then as Paramount said, its a simple job.
On the XJ8 make sure you mark the inner lower wishbone bolts, to aid set up afterwards. I'm not sure if you can buy the ball joints seperatly?? You will need a full Geometry set up afterwards too.
