Video is pretty naff, using utube to host it - even naffer.

Bit worrying that it threw the belt when they had it.

My Monaro did that last week, it was due to a bent tensioner and it was fixed in 5 minutes. Still one hell of a car for the money and I'd take one over an M5 any day.

I am getting a real world average of 22mpg in my FI VXR8 600+ and got about the same in my 6.0 FI pushing similar outputs.

600+ BHP that is very good, can the standard engine and trans cope and last with that power?, with sympathetic use?

mine is an 05 Cv8 running 5psi and producing 440bhp + 580lbs torque. This is only temporary as it's being fitted with a smaller (faster) pulley next week to get it up to 9psi. Then it will produce between 550-580bhp with about the same torque albeit further through the rev range. The blower was calibrated at the factory for 9psi but the current capacity is being used by the engine , hence the need for the pulley. You can go as high as 12psi but 9 is the safe limit on stock internals. A 6 litre engine will produce a lttle more but to be honest 500+ bhp is quite enough, any more is for bragging down the pub. Mpg is the same or a little better than standard. Imho the blower really makes the car and mine is tuned for 95 unleaded so it's no more costly to run than standard.

TBH it feels completely bullet proof, even running std clutch with no issues.

Thank you very much, looking good for me then.
