Photoshop for Mac - recommendations?

[Mustang Baz]

Am looking to purchase a Canon 40D in the next couple of weeks (have used a Powershot/standard SLR for several years so upgrading) and alongside it, will likely also purchase Photoshop. However, am relatively inexperienced in using Photoshop-esque packages, so would appreciate any recommendations for a Mac package suitable for an intermediate-level photographer.
