dash light flashing and working in 2wd only. Reset light and 4wd works but not driveable over 5 mph due to prop banging about, any ideas how to check transfer box or rear diff? thanks in advance.

I guess if you had the entire car in the air on axle stands, you might be able to "drive" it and perhaps see or hear something that isnt right ?

I think Regal Motorsport in Southampton can get the transfer box plates renewed.

If not, only solution is a new transfer box...

If that's the problem...

Word of caution...

The transfer box weighs a couple of hundred tons and a feed pipe is very vulnerable to breakage when moving or tighgtening the nut. And it's all aluminium.

Did it lose any power steering fluid?

When the seals on the transfer box go it sends fluid back up out a breather.

Try removing fuse 19 and see if it drives normally.

Fuse 19 switches off the 4x4.

Just got a used transfer box but the temp switch holes are different sizes, is this a major problem?
