So there I was washing the rear screen and I put my hand straight through it grumpy

Now I could possibly stitch it back together but I've got a feeling the original stitching is starting to rot so I'm just putting off the inevitable.

I'm thinking I might as well replace the whole rear section as the screen has dulled too and if I'm going to spend some time and effort on it I might as well make a good job of it.

What are my options?

Have a look at this on ebay

Good write up on fitting by Dave Hammerton as well.

I was thinking that looked the best route after reading it on The Griffith Pages. Just wondered if there are any other options before going down that route.

Hi,
Not sure if this helps but I managed to crack the rear screen on my S3 and found a chap that would replace the screen in it for about £200. I just went through the retrimmers / upholsterers section of the yellow pages.

May be easier than replacing the whole thing?

If you put your hand through it so easily it means the stitching is rotten - so best to bite the bullet and replace the complete hood now. The hood will have to come off anyway even if you just have a new window stitched in.

Is the hood maker on here?

I was wondering if the Targa panel cover was available to fit the new Woods two-piece roof?

Either on it's own, or as a matching set with the rear section?

Also, can it be done with a zipped rear window?

I assume you mean the one being offered recently? If so I think you'd need more fabric (ie wider) as you'll need to cover the joints of the two halves if you follow?

Indeed I do.

If you don't recover it from the same batch of fabric then getting a good colour match may be a problem later. This is why Wood supplies them uncovered.

So I would prefer to get it all done in one go, the two-piece panels are as well as, not instead of the replacement cover for the original targa cover.

Funny old thing I did exactly the same thing at the weekend, I felt pig sick I couldn't believe it. Have you managed to sort yours out yet? What option did you go for?

I went for Dave Hammertons one and it's excellent. I've only fitted the targa portion thus far and that took about a day to do all in. Good job really as the gf put her hand through it big time at the weekend and I've now got a two foot hole in it yikes I guess the stitching really was rotten.

Can you imagine the argument if I hadn't mashed it first!!!!! punchshoothehe
