Just thinking the same thing... banghead

If they put adverts in during a football match they'd be outcry yet F1 fans just have to put up with it??

Even the commentators are moaning about how crap ITV are at showing the right footage...

The BBC might not be perfect, but at least they don't have ads!

As well as the ads, the directing is the worst I've witnessed. Truly appalling - Hamilton is slicing through the pack, and we get to see another driver's pit stop?!!

As much as I'm loathed to say it, I wish BBC would take over the F1 coverage.
No adverts, the possibilty of that nobber James Allen getting a P45, what's not to like, surely they can't mess it up more than ITV seem to.
Shame the beeb are a bit skint these days.

ITV are in business to make money. They do so by making programmes which they hope people will watch, more people watch, the more they charge for the add breaks. Without the ads ITV would not be able to afford the FI contract. There are enough people in this country who believe ITV is free. How they do not spot that they are paying for it via the products they purchase is beyond me. The myth that is often spoken “ I never buy anything advertised” is just that a myth. We all pay and somewhat more than the TV licence. Companies would not advertise if it did not work. As to the race coverage, that's either Brazilian TV or Bernie's company. ITV do not even provide the race coverage at Silverstone, Bernie's Team do that. That said, the commentary does drive one mad, stop talking and think before you open your mouth and contradict yourself yet again. But this is the future, as the BBC is being destroyed. So either ITV or pay per view from one of the many companies arriving on the scene. When the BBC has gone, which will be not that far in the future, we will be watching as they do in the USA with a 50/50 split between add breaks and programmes. Having just come back from a long stay in Texas I speak from horrible experiance Why has American sport got so many time outs? For the add breaks. ITV will lose FI to Sky if Sky want to take it. Sad but true.

I agree, much better to have it on ITV with adverts than on sky.

Still damned annoying ot have the adverts though.

Just wait a few years and we will "hopefully" be able to pay bernie direct and download it straight through the net smile

You can thank some local Brazilian FOM contracted director for that. Video is done by FOM and sent out as a feed to ITV.

No. Today GP was a Globo (sp) production as it has been for many years and was just as bad as other years.

ITV just have to put up with what the local broadcaster gives them.

But if people don't want to pay for Bernivision (F1 Digital+) then don't moan about free to air coverage.

It should be on ITV2/4 or on HD with no adverts during the race. They can pack adsi in before but the programme sponsor should underwrite the 2 1/2 hour show so that no ads need to be seen during the race. ITV in my opnion do not do a good job, and James Allen is as interesting as cement. The rugby coverage showed the F1 people how do sport on ITV.

Ashamed of the business I work in... its ITV that I blame. They could at least give us one race without ads. Wht itv dont realise is that people who watch F1 arnt interested in anything being advertised...advertisers are waisting their money. But ITV aint telling them for some reason.

It's flying in the face of reality to belive that the add breaks during GP's don't sell anything. It's also pie in the sky to belive that ITV would TX on any of their digi channels without ads. You want to watch GP without adds it's pay per view, either at the cinema or TV. Ads are why ITV do what they do. The programmes are secondary to the money making and we viewers are just consumers.

The current trend for showing random people watching the race is slightly annoying... oh, they look amazed! Oh, they look tense! And?!

Maybe the FIA should have a phone vote for viewers in the UK...

BBC, ITV or Sky
