The black plastic rings around the headlamps have broken on my wedge (the one that screws in after the headlamp unit) - are they still available and easy to get hold of?

Thanks
Chris.

I wouldnt have thought so, as the one thats left on mine looks a bit, err, handmade...

However, theyre standard 7 inch lamps, and you can get chrome finisher rings for about a tenner each.

If you dont want chrome, you could etch prime them and spray paint satin black. You WOULD HAVE TO etch prime though, as the topcoat would not otherwise adhere to the chrome plate.

On my list for next year...

Still, for the winter, its Vixen, Vixen, Vixen!

Does anyone know what make the headlamps are, should have looked when I had them out. The rubber seals are cibie I think, are the lights going to be cibie oscars?

I may still have some. But not able to check for a while (few days) maybe tomorrow afternoon. Not sure if I have already given them away.

Just got some replacement lamp units for my car from good old Vehicle Wiring Products. I'm making a modified loom as well to see if I can get some more urge to the bloody things, then I might be able to see where I'm going!
Of course now I've fixed the alternator I may just find that there's more light from the old ones...

You would be suprized how much extra light you can get by just fitting new bulbs.

Try vehicle wiring products or any site that sells headlamps - the surrounds can be bought separately for a reasonable cost. Failing that, a visit to the next and nearest classic car show with an autojumble should sort you out.

When I last talked to Cibie a few years ago they had some chrome surrounds but were about 10 to 15 quid each. They didn't have that many left, and they were not going to make any more either.
