I have only had the Chim for 3months but have noticed that the tappets are getting noisy, not being of mechanical mind I am hoping it is not going to be expensive, if it needs replacement how much am I looking at and where in Staffordshire would someone reccomend to have it done, any advice welcome.
Have it diagnosed by a TVR specialist before you commit to any work. The tappets are self-adjusting and shouldn't make any noise until the cam is completely knackered, at which point you're looking at about £1k or so to replace. But there are various other things that can cause tapping noises, the exhaust manifold gasket being the favourite.

Make sure it's not an exaust leak, I have a tiny leak in the headers and it sounds a lot like tappets.
I have this when it's cold....it had the manifold gaskets done but still does it slightly....i think its from the join at the down pipes....goes away after about 3-4 miles when it's up to temp.Knick Pee said:
