highlands hoon next april - any interest?
Discussion
im going upto the highlands at the end of next april for a 4 day driving holiday and just trying too sort accomadation out but wondered if there was any interest from you guys/girls joining me?
ive been in contact with a nice lodge in fort augustus next too loch ness and depending on length of stay amount of bookings we can get some group discount.
they charge £50 a day per person as it is now so for 4 nights we will be looking under £200 per person and ill try and nogotiate the best rates possible if people are interested.
im looking at doing this route at least once while up there

and will involve sampling the best roads in the uk like this

so whos up for it?????

id love todo the isle of man to be honest but its harder too sort out what with the ferrys etc so when i get round too going there ill probably tag onto another organise event.
i know what your saying about the speed limits though an i know they do have a suprising amount of speed checks in the middle of no where.
got too be better than driving in this country though and the veiws/scenery is stunning.

All you need is this and this. Save them in you're favorites and study them, it 'aint rocket science. The organized trips on here (PH) will cost you about twice as much as doing it yourself.i know what you mean about these organised trips costing twice as much.
was looking at the pistonhead hoons and work out quite expensive.
i may do isle of man next year aswell funds dependent but ill be visiting the highlands first.
ive got a euro road trip planned for the begining of sept for 2 weeks which is why i wanted too do the highlands early in the year.
ferry costs £150 alone for the isle of man which is not far off what the accomadation will cost for the scotland trip so at the minute i need to be sensible and go for the cheaper option (i know im a tight arse)

Me and Mrs FJ, go to mainland europe every year. We never book anything except for the ferry, and then just drive as far as we like. Usually, we end up in, or through the Alps. Before we bought the place we now have in the Alps, we had a lovely wee cottage on the Isle of Skye.
The roads there (and between Glasgow/Edinburgh/Inverness and there) are often great for motoring. We still go regularly and stay with the new owners.
But, in April, remember that in very many places, sheep, lambs and Highland Cattle roam free on the tarmac.

ive managed too get a night flat at lake como in italy for some decent rates for the week which is right at the bottom of the alps, about an hour from stelvio pass and a couple of hours from modena.
plan is too drive over there via the ring for a couple of days then swing by monaco and back home via france sampling route napolean.
ill probably only book accomadation for italy the ring and monaco then just allow more than enough time between places and stay where ever i find along the way.
something ive wanted too do for a while now.
