my chim has started to play around on idle, when you come to a stop it idles at 1200 to 1400 rpm and then drop to normal after 10-20 secs, when you start it he revs are up to 1800 and than drop to normal. This may not seem a big problem, more annoying as it causes the engine to shunt when slowing down.

I have looked at all the usual suspects and cleaned the stepper motor, butterly valve, checked the settings on the throttle pot and AFM, all seem to be correct. The car runs perfect otherwise.

Does anyone have any ideas?scratchchin

Dunno if it will work but could try resetting (remove plug/replace plug!) ECU......? Oh and check all connections/earths etc are clean. And everything nice and tight.

Check for an induction air leak: plenum chamber gaskets (including stepper motor gasket) or perished vacuum hoses.
