After watching a great race last night, I wake up to find out that Kimi's stunning race and late second half season charge to victory this year could be in doubt... Why?

Well it would appear some stewards think the fuel in the BMW cars was the wrong temperature, but it was kicked into touch late last night, but now with McLaren appealing for this issue to be reviewed again, we can't fully start celebrating can we!!

In all honesty, would a subtle change in temperature really make such a difference on track. These are cars that are fighting tenths or even less between each other.

How about introducing a fully paid up group of race officials who go to all events so we have the same team overseeing every race, and not some bunch of locals keen to make an impression on the world stage. Then, if issues like this arise again and which are deemed not to have made a major impact on the race, that the drivers points are uneffected, but the team are penalised £1million for every race point they got in the race.

All funds would go into a global trust fund to assist marshalls and team members who are injured during an F1 event.

I think if teams knew that there was a huge financial penalty for these 'minor errors' as they like to call them, that they would be much more careful in making sure the team follow the rules.

Of course there would be some instances where the performance advantage would be clear and on those occasions you would have to take the points away from the driver.

Just a thought...

To be honest, so much rubbish has happened this year that I'm glad McLaren have put in an appeal. Di Cockazemolo now has a 'tainted' champion in his own team and there will be confusion over what really happened. It's a result that F1 deserves this year.
