Phew, 80%. For some reason I drew a blank on the cogs & pulleys, the rest I found to be pretty straightforward.

82% - not bad considering I'm electronic rather than mechanical.

Hmmm 86% - must read question before answering

If you hit the "Show ToC" button on the bottom left it will show you a list of the questions you got right/wrong (Tick or Cross)

98%. I think the one I got wrong was the complicated pulley.

Quite a few errors though:
- forces are expressed in Newtons not kg.
- the moments one (Box A being 300kg, box B being further away from the fulcrum) didn't have the correct answer listed, unless you assumed the centre of mass to be on the far edge of each box.

Happy with my score anyway. Since it's 12 years since I finished my engineering degree and became a lawyer, it shows I haven't forgotten everything smile

ETA - in fact, I did get the complicated pulley one right now I've checked the results. The unfair one was the moments one I mentioned (Q31) - if the boxes are of uniform density, then the real correct answer would be 60kg. Hence I went for 50kg...

I agree, there were some questions that were a little ambiguous.

I thought they were fairly straight forward.

24 is ambiguous as technically the switch and battery are in series, but the lamps are in parallel. That and No7 were the only ones I got wrong.

Well for a test like this you could be accused of making things too complex.I got the suction/air prerssure one wrong too (I said "sucked in&quotwink
