Squeaking noise in MK2 GTi

I've got a MK2 Golf GTi with a 2.0 16v engine from an Audi 80.

It makes a very annoying high pitched noise which i think is to do with the power steering. What part is likely to be faulty? Would it be the belt or the actual PAS pump?

Belt squeal - 'they all do that sir'

New belt is a couple of quid from GSF. They get really wet which causes them to slip a tiny bit even when new and accordingly they wear quickly

Yeah i've noticed it on previous golfs but not as bad as this! I'll get a new belt and see how that goes. Is it amazingly hard to fit or can i do it myself?
