Help on finding product liability insurance please?
Discussion
Hi all!
I am setting up a small business selling aftermarket kits and shock absorbers for 4x4s, Quad bikes and off road vehicles. Most of the work is done but unfortunately (being relatively new to this) I did not realise that I would need product liability insurance so greatly.
I do not manufacture any of the products but do import a number from the Sates and Far East which makes me liable in the case of accidents caused by the products being faulty.
The problem is I am finding it incredibly hard to find anyone to cover the business. The problems seem to be either the fact most insurers do not cover vehicle parts as they don’t have the required knowledge on them, or smaller niggles like they can't do quad bikes, or they won't cover imports etc.
Could anyone suggest anything, (I have already spoken to Biba and Tradex with no luck). There are hundreds of companies out there selling aftermarket accessories for cars, bikes, quads, 4x4s, MX bikes etc so they must be covered?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Try giving Towergate TLC a call. They do all kinds of specialist insurance, including motorsport.
