New stereo help and storage slot

Ive bought a JVC KD-G631. When playing, it reverts to demo on the display after about 15 seconds.. id rather id stayed on the setting i had selected. Anyone know how to do this?

Also, i have replaced the cd slot with a storage slot, but it wont slide straight in. Do i have to remove some of the plastic thats part of the trim?

i think the stereo is in demo mode possibly a security setting. you should be able to turn it off in the settings menu.
i had this on a kenwood a few years ago and had to use a fob to sync with the unit.
i think is so shops can put it on display.

this is fixed now... until i turn off the ignition, then all the settings reset. Any ideas!!?

Ah yes thats the wire which provides the permanent battery feed to save settings when the car is turned off. check the manual for the colour, pull the stereo out and make sure that cable is connected up properly.

Your permanent & ignition lives are reversed.
Swap the pins around in the loom - 5 mins job.
