But what if KR were to start beating FA? Would he start moan about him too?

FA has alienated himself from ever having an equal number 1 in the team, sense prevailing.

the way Ferrari worded the press release about Massa be signed for another year, is so vague, it's obviously a very likley possibility

Ferrari will pay around $60 - 80 million to buy Alonso out - that figure would nicely take care of the FIA fine

Kimi wouldn't give a toss that Alonso was in the team with him - Kimi would walk over Alonso - no doubt about it
I just can't see Alonso going - but it's he's only option to stay in F1

I think the big question is who's going to replace Alonso at Mclaren

Maybe Kubica or KOVALAINEN

Mclaren need a good test driver - can't see De La Rosa being given another year
Maybe Wurz to go back as a test driver

I find that very, very unlikely. Alonso pitched a fit this year because he got equal equipment with a rookie. You honestly think he'll agree to have Kimi Raikkonen as his team mate? Raikkonen who just won the WDC?

Not. A. Chance.

He'll be at Renault with Fisi as his team mate (Heikki would be too much competition for him).

Cant see it myself. Fred will either be at Toyota or Renault next year, with a team mate who isnt as quick as him. So thats Trulli or Heiki out of a job with their current team.

Trulli at Mclaren - that might be a nice pairing

The plus side of that is Ferrari don't have any problems with having a clear heirachy of drivers. It might seem unthinkable, but if they were to get Alonso on board, it would be Raikonnen they'd be replacing!

I can see Alonso in a Ferrari, I just can't see them ditching Raikonnen or Alonso pairing up as an equal partner with the reigning world champion. Maybe in 2009

How about Alonso in a BMW? They've had a good season and look about ready to get a top flight experienced driver in and have a serious crack at the world championship.

Rosberg, Kovalinen or Kubica must be favourites for the spare McLaren seat. The Piquet family has a good history with BMW, so Alonso might have a good number 2 in Piquet Jr - up and coming GP2 driver with a lot to prove in his rookie season. What can go wrong?

the journalist that told me about the alonso vs mclaren contracts reckons that todt signed massa for the next few years as a fcuk you to the rest of ferrari cos he knows he's out of the team soon. think there was something to do with nicholas todt too. however, i'm not sure if the contract says in what capacity massa was to drive for ferrari, or if it said explicitly the scuderia ferrari team, or one of their customer teams. so there is a very small chance alonso could be in red overalls next year? he's denied the renault rumours... but then i guess he would...

The Piquet kid was pretty graceless yesterday.
Being interviewed before the race about how Hamilton had done this year, he suggested that many GP2 drivers would have done as well.
Even if it had been true, which seems highly unlikely, to say so just seemed like sour grapes from a kid who's enjoyed tremendous career advantages relative to Hamilton.

Ah come on. These guys are direct rivals, he couldn't very well say "yeah Hamilton was always the best of the bunch." There was definitely that subtext but I wouldn't expect anything else. I imagine the old man could have been a lot more graceless than that too smile

You're just throwing up the opposite extreme, which creates a false dichotomy.
What he could have done was to say something like, "Lewis has had a great year", or "I hope Lewis's success causes the teams to give a chance to some of the other really good GP2 drivers".
Instead, Junior just made a clumsy attempt to undermine what Hamilton has achieved.

Piquet Jr is the same age as Hamilton, and, as I said, he has grown up in vastly more privileged, sophisticated circumstances than Hamilton did. That advantage should manifest itself in public behaviour that shows at least a bit of graciousness, and a tad of recognition for what Hamilton achieved this year.

It's not a big deal, but the Piquet kid just embarrassed himself.

i don't know about eithers respective backgrounds so won't comment on that specifically, but do you honestly believe that those that come from a more privileged background are more appreciative of what they've got when they get it, than those that have had a tougher fight and come from nothing?

As a rule, no. I am bemused as to why you would think that I might have believed that.
On the other hand, there certainly are cases of individuals who were born lucky and who appreciate that fact.
Regardless of that, the fact IMO is that Piquet Junior acted like a fool yesterday. As I said, it's not a big deal, but it probably is an indication of the lad's immaturity and shallowness.

Totally agree with Flemke, in fact I beleive my comment towards Jnr at the time was "oh off you jealous tt"

Tried to steer well clear of the Jesus bandwagon this year as I have been following his progress for a few years already but Jnr's comments really did smack of bitterness.

Regards Piquet Jr, he's a racer the last thing you will here him say is Lewis is wonderful :-), they all think they are the very best hence they are in F1 *or about to join*

Still... Lewis did kick his ass in GP2.

You would have thought during his grooming for F1 he would have been taught a little about PR

how about alonso to williams? that would soon sort him out. i cant see frank or patrick giving him the chance to run his mouth or anything. a swift kick to the nuts and get him inline, job done.
