Nurburgring experience
Discussion
Returned from my first trip to the nurburgring lastnight, 1000 miles and the T350 didnt put a foot wrong, not even use a drop of oil, 4l RR going great!
Our map reading was the only thing lacking in skill!
Almost frosty but clear on the saturday afternoon and done 5 laps, Sunday there was thick fog and drizzle all day, much of the time the wipers were on and peering through the spray being thrown up from cars ahead, managed another 10 laps of this before i tired and decided to call it a day.
Many a comment being made refering to me as insane to take a TVR out in that weather but hey im a Scot, that 15 lap ticket will not be wasted!
The car handled great, well balanced and the rear end behaved extremely well, had one near miss where i experienced standing water, leading to understeer and a bounce over the grass within about 2 feet of the armco!
Otherwise i found driving it in the rain a great learning experience and it taught me how to drive the track properly, if treated with respect the car didnt cause any problems.
Only saw one other tiv, a cerb 4.5, i think he bottled it on the sunday with the weather being so crap.
The hotel was nice and served good food, an end of season deal meant more beer tokens for us, met a few friendly and helpful people from Australia, America and of course some chaps from England (they didnt like when we cheered for South Africa
)
In one word - Amazing
will deffinatly be back next year, at least once!
will get some pictures up soon

I know it was crap weather for you, but what times did you manage?
Unless he's a racing driver then I doubt on his first trip to the 'ring that this was even on his mind. There are several different 'distances' that can be times too (bridge to gantry etc.). Most can't do a real full lap - you have to come back into the pits/toll.Saturday

Sunday

didnt time as such as it was first time there and was trying to just learn the track, plus the weather was quite bad most of the time
i have plenty pics of other cars but obviously not many of myself on track, just from other people who have emailed pictures to me, would have been rude to ask my friend to stand and take pictures.
