So because my car is on an 06 plate (even though it was made August 05) I'm paying double that of someone with an 05/55 plate? I feel sick cry

Mine was registered in June 06 so it's the big £400 for me next time around. I'm going to drive everywhere with my foot flat to the floor until all the ice melts and Westminster is 10 feet under water. Scottish turd. Ha Ha indeed!

It just shows that this government knows people will continue to buy the motor they want and fork out for another dollop of stealth tax to fund some other cock up or other they've made. You can tax a 15 tonne truck with 300- 400bhp motor that does 12 mpg and still only pay £200.00 for that.Bargain. Their argument will never stack up.
I'll stick with the ro though.

stupid thing is I pay 165 for the Astra and do more than 2x the distance each year in it while it pumps out more than half the emissions of the Monaro so in effect I am paying 40 quid less a year to pollute the world more. So does this make sense or was it all a publicity stunt to try make them look like they care about climate change, which btw we can do feck all about and only an arrogant tt would assume the human race is capable of having a significant effect on anyway - like our 1.8% or whatever total greenhouse gas contribution is gonna make any difference. Rant over - except to say we want cheap clean energy - nuclear is the way ahead and has been for last 30 years just no-one in government has the balls to stand up and say it.

The Government will do whatever they think will win them votes. We, the idiot sheep public have decided amongst ourselves that climate change is a huge problem that must be stopped overnight with little consideration for the longer term logistics or the fact China and India are mixing more concrete than the rest of the world put together.

Meanwhile nobody has noticed that the Government have put another 2p on fuel with another 2p due in April; perhaps it's time to barricade the fuel depots again?
