In a sport allegedly keen on safety since the death of AS, what could possibly be the reason for racing really fast cars at night?? Can it be.....money?

So we europeans can see the race at a reasonable hour and therefore they can flog more adverts. Its not exactly going to be in the dark either, the floodlights will make it just as bright as a daylight race anyway.

The shadows will make it interesting, as will someone with an air rifle, *ping* oh look the pit entrance is dark now.

Personally i think it'll be great and i'll be tapping XJS John up for somewhere to sleep if i go as well.He just doesn't know it yet

Yep, it's going to send a wondeful message about F1 looking after it's green credentials in the face of potential criticism. That and fuel-burn still being retained...

You have to smile at the supreme irony of it all. Bernie moves F1 away from the European circuits in order to tap into the emerging markets who, he assures us, are all desperate to host GPs, then makes them hold their races at night so that it fits in with the waking hours of the European audience.

Wonderful.

The current rulers of F1 have lost the plot, they have no idea how to make
it interesting without resorting to gimmicks. It is just clutching at straws. Until
the manufacturers and the teams get together to sort the stupid mess they are in I don’t really think we can expect much better.

The reason for racing at night is that with daytime racing the string pulling by bernie and max(also known as the chuckle bros)has become too apparent so now we will all start betting and waching again and won`t be annoyed when towards the end of the race ferrari are declared winners due to something only the stewards could see.PS can`t wait for 2017 when my mobility scooter will lap faster than any f1 car.Tempus
