No dipped headlights

My dipped headlights wont work on my S1.
Main beam is OK, and main beam on the headlight flasher is OK but go out when I dip.

The stalk switch is only a year old, I have checked the fuse and the power is not getting to the fuse so I thought it might be the relay. Any other ideas before I order one . Ta in advance

Circuit shows that the column switch is directly connected to the lights via the fuses? And what is a 'dim dip' unit?
If there's nothing at the fuse, next step back is the switch itself.

LeTVR - I don't know if this is your question, but "dim dip" was a system fitted by law to cars of the mid to late eighties in the UK, for use in built up areas - if you put your switch to "sidelights only" and the engine was running, then the dip headlights came on at reduced power (by connecting the headlamps in series instead of in parallel) to prevent headlamp dazzle in town. When you moved the switch to "dip" then the dim dip system was bypassed and you got full headlamp power by having them wired in parallel.

I know that some TVRs had this system (mine does), and some didn't.

Dim-dip was dropped afterwards, so is no longer required.

To the OP - if you have checked the switch and the fuses, then the dim-dip unit might be the next thing on the list to check. I don't know, off the top of my head, where it is though! (It probably looks like a relay and will probably be in the passenger footwell - I can check the bible when I get home).

On my S1 the power for the dip lights was routed through the stalk. I melted at least three before I got fed up and installed a relay. I would take the stalk off and have a look at the contacts. You'll easily spot if something has melted.
