I have 30,000 leaflets to distribute...

...and I don't know how to get rid of them
When we first started I was going door-to-door myself. Nowadays my time is just too valuable in the office, but I really don't trust anyone else to deliver the leaflets for me - I know what I'd do if someone paid me £5 per hour for delivering leaflets - they'd be straight in the bin!
That's the worst case scenario, or at the very least I know some doors would get missed out (whereas I'd make the effort to dodge the snarling dog and traverse the 200 yard driveways to get my leaflet in the door. After all, they might turn into a great customer!
)
Anyway, I'm rambling a bit as usual, so i'll cut to the point.
Is there a way to get promotional material delivered that can be trusted? I could really do with a boost in certain areas, and it worked brilliantly before

In with the local free paper? They'll still get binned but at least you'll know they got there.
(And the paperboy will
ing hate you for it, have you any idea how heavy those sacks are?)
I'd rather they went through the door on their own. Trouble with being the free gumf from the paper is that it all gets shaken straight into the bin without a glance (that's what we do anyway!).(And the paperboy will

Insert with the local paper as already suggested - or get Royal Mail to deliver on specific rounds.
Get your drivers to do it in quiet times, ie whilst they've dropped off a client and are waiting for the next job to come through. Or go out with each driver in turn and say it's as a mamagement bonding session
Ask local pubs and businesses if you can leave some leaflets with them in case their customers require taxis etc.

Great more shit through the door

Or don't you like people that try to make a living?
But the amount of shite i get coming through my door is untrue , and none of it will get a second look straigh to the trash, i see leafletting as counter productive as all it seems to do is piss people off

These aren't just leaflets, they are decent quality postcard sized cards that people can pin on notice boards, or leave by the phone.
I bin all the Takeaway special offer and nightclub (£1 a bottle all night!) flyers, but I do keep things that are useful, or at least store the number.
Anyway, I have 30,000 of the buggers now

What about targetting places a little more than just door-to-door. All of the pubs, clubs, restaurants etc, where they more be more likely to be held on to - put up by payphones etc?
Would imagine you've already done this. How about getting your drivers to drop a couple in to a couple of places they each get listed with so when they're passing they can do so - makes better use of their downtime, however it is in their interest.

My brother in law and a few mates do something similar, they were packaging up stuff for Honda or Toyota not so long back and sticking them through letter boxes locally.
I don't think they did per hour work, it was price per item.
PM me and I can forward the details to him if you like?

Your Highness.
Have you thought about chatting to these young mums that do the Kleeneze/Avon stuff?
I realise it may not solve your immediate problem, but would help in the future.
Or if you have kids or know kids (half term/weekend) they'll do it now, just say you will do some spot checks before they get paid.

Up our way (Sunny Huddersfield) there are a couple of options apart from the free weekly newspaper.
There are a couple of A5 sized monthly magazines that contain adverts about local services (My Community News & HD Connect). They get delivered by hand and I know one of them allow inserts.
Perhaps there's summat similar where you are?....

Why don't you offer an incentive for the leaflet droppers to actually drop off the flyers? For example, if someone calls up as a result of a leaflet drop in their catchment area, offer them 50p per lead or something?
Might give them some more enthusiasm if someone asks them about the company on their rounds too.
