Yeah, and just think I could have added a whole 35bhp! eek

I don't think I will be bothering!

Why do people even buy these things?

As far as I can see all this will do is restrict air flow!

I have been giving this sort of thing alot of thought lately.. What a brilliant idea.. NOT..

Now, this brings me onto my next crack pot idea...

I think the output of an engine could be greatly increased, if you could in some way, make the area of combustion smaller. If you think about the mechanics of an engine, fuel and air mixed explosion happens, and the only bit that moves is the piston. Now, if you think of it this way. Only the molecules who are acting downwards are actually making the piston move, while others are either coliding with each other, and trying to make the sleeve move (more like trying to tow the titanic with a piece of dental floss, it ain't gonna happen). Insert Mental Picture : Say you have railway lines setup similar to that of a tic tac toe, with trains on them, and say at the bottom you have the "piston". Now, the trains going in a east west direction aren't going to have any impact on the piston, i.e loss of potential. Also, throw into the mix of possible collisions on the trains heading north south. The perfect engine... have all the trains going north south, and get rid of the east west lines.

Easy
4 Pistons, 1 central intake/exit chamber in the shape of a cross: - Covers most routes i reckon, especially Milton Keynes eh Roger?
You heard it first here - the only 4 way cylinder - just got to think of how we would connect all the Cams n Stuff.......
