Starter Motor M400

Any one know the Ford part number for an M-400 starter motor. Have the part number from Noble 357011000AC. Have tried three that have been used on Ford Duratec engines but they don't fit. Do I have to buy from Noble at £320 when a Ford sourced one should be half that price?

Terry(Medusa on here) had one recently on his 3R. I think Kerridges did it on warranty though.

I took my Tuscan one into the local car spares and they matched it..

When my s/m packed in, London Noble replaced it with what was supposed to be an identical part - but it wasn't! It was a centimeter or 2 longer and very nearly touched the fuel tank at rest Skippy stuck a load of neoprene behind it as a temp measure ; sent the original off to be re-furbed and then replaced the 'new' one with the original.

I will check out about getting it serviced but the question is how long will that take? The car has already been off the road for a few weeks. Of the three starters that I have tried one looked identical but when mounted part of it would have been in the fuel tank. Hope to have some more news today.

Check the Noble Mods forum as they have upgraded to a Visteon one which is about $220.

Gave starter to man who has the parts to repair them. He says it showed sign's of water ingress and had seized. A couple of hours and a few parts later he says it is working. Cost £60-£70. Hope to have it in by the weekend. Keep you all posted and thanks for all the info.
