Does anyone know the application for the cerb v8 electric
power steering pump before i rip it out to see if there's
any manufacturers idents. Hoping it's not a TVR manufactured
unit!

Its true, the cerb uses an engine driven steering pump (odd a land rover I believe?) but due to the inaccessibility of its location, and the fact that you usually need the engine out to replace it (or the woodruff key that often goes), most people opt to replace the pump with an electric unit off a saxo/106, usually fitting the pump where the washer bottle usually sits. Apparently all the later tvrs uses an electric system too.
Hope this helps!

It's fitted at the front on the offside, and covered by the rad housing and the front
cosmetic engine bay cover.
I've replaced a few saxo electric pumps so should recognise it once it's out.
I thought another candidate might be the vauxhall unit fitted to the
astra.
Thanks anyway
