Great so my alternator is now plying up. Took it to a specialist who couldn't identify it as there appears to be no visable marks/numbers. All he could say was that it was some Japanese thing and a birdnest design which he wouldn't touch anyway. So (hoping there is an answer other than take it to Halfords and match it) Does anyone know what alternators were fitted to 94 4.0HC Chiameras.....

Lucas, Bosch, Magnetti Morelli (??) to name but three. Sounds like a previous owner may have been done the scrappy and thought that would do!!

You need one from a classic Range Rover. Don't take it to Halfords but do check that it matches particular with the rear connections, mounts and pulley fitting.
