Posted in here as i need a quick response. Leaving in 10 minutes. Just arranged to go and see an MX5 that i want to buy. It's a MK2, W Reg. What should i be looking out for apart from the usual serv history, cambelt and signs of HG failure? Anything Mazda specific that i can use as a bargaining tool, the car is a little out of my intended budget, so any negotiating tips would be great!!

TIA

Condition of roof?

any radiator problems?

Rust under sills? (unlikely on MK2)

Take your sissors and comb, and maybe you can throw in free haircut for some money off?

Well guys - i bought it! bounce

It's a MK2 2000 W Reg 1.8i in Red, and i have a few questions for the PH MX5 experts:-

1. The car does not have power windows, is there any chance that all the motors/ wires are in place and i can just fit a switch over the blanking plate to activate them (long shot i know)

2. Is it possible to retro-fit air con, i'm happy with having the roof down, but Mrs E thinks it'll get warm in there on those hot but rainy days. (And it'll help clear the screen in winter)

3. Finally, for now, the car has a remote fob for the alarm, but not central locking, is it possible to connect the current alram enabler/ disabler to also lock the doors?

I know i'm praying for a lot, but it seems to me it's cheaper to build the cars as standard, then just exclude stuff to get to different model ranges.
